mammoth lakes

finally catching up on here since I only have a month before the hard stuff and then the good stuff come into play. we called this trip (mammoth lakes and our remaining utah national parks) the ‘rejecting the american dream’ trip because this was around the time we truly started thinking about what the dream really meant to us. it’s on my about section for reference.

about a month before this trip, I was at a friend’s house and she showed me this travel book that she thought that I’d like (turns out I already had it but hadn’t gone through it yet). through the conversations and food, I started flipping through the pages and saw pictures of mammoth lakes. I strangely became fixated on it and almost obsessed for weeks so we finally went. it’s honestly so beautiful out there with the sierra nevadas as your constant backdrop. if you can catch the sunrise despite the 13degree weather and icicles forming in your hair, you might just leave with a smile plastered on your face.
